❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Recording & Library
How long is each clip?
Each clip is exactly 3 seconds. ClipsR is built around this fixed duration so building a video feels natural — one quick shot at a time.
How many clips can I store in my Library?
On the free tier (after your 7-day trial), you can keep up to 20 clips in your Library. With a lifetime upgrade, your Library is unlimited.
💡 Tip: Clips in the Library are separate from clips inside projects. You can move any Library clip into a project slot at any time.
Can I record with audio?
Yes. ClipsR will request microphone permission on first use. Audio is included in every clip by default. When exporting, you can toggle Include Audio off if you prefer a silent video.
How do I delete a clip from the Library?
Long-press any clip to open the context menu, then choose Delete. Deleted clips are removed permanently. This cannot be undone.
Projects & Export
How many projects can I create?
On the free tier you can have up to 3 projects. A lifetime upgrade removes this limit entirely.
What video durations are available?
- Free tier: 60-second projects only (20 × 3-second clips)
- Pro (lifetime): 60s, 180s, or fully custom durations
What resolution does ClipsR export at?
- Free tier: 1080 × 1920 (Full HD portrait, 9:16)
- Pro (lifetime): 2160 × 3840 (4K portrait, 9:16)
Frame rate is 30 fps in both cases.
Why does my exported video have a watermark?
A subtle “Made with ClipsR” watermark appears when you are on the free tier (trial expired, no purchase). Upgrading to the lifetime plan removes it permanently.
💡 Tip: During your 7-day trial, exports are watermark-free — use the time to fully test before deciding.
Where does my exported video go?
Choose Photos to save directly to your camera roll, or choose Share to send immediately to Instagram, TikTok, Messages, AirDrop, and more.
Can I preview my project before exporting?
Yes — open a project and tap the Play button to preview the full composition. Empty slots are skipped during preview by default.
Why does the export button say I need at least 2 clips?
ClipsR requires a minimum of 2 filled slots to create a merged video. Fill at least 2 slots in a project to unlock the Export button.

Troubleshooting
The camera won’t open / shows a black screen
ClipsR needs camera permission. Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and make sure ClipsR is enabled, then return to the app and try again.
My clips aren’t saving to Photos
Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos and make sure ClipsR has Add Photos Only or Full Access permission.
The export failed or shows an error
A few things to try:
- Make sure your device has enough free storage (exported videos can be 50–200 MB)
- Make sure ClipsR has Photos permission (see above)
- Force-quit the app and try exporting again
- If the issue persists, contact us with the error message shown
I purchased but the app still shows the free tier
Go to Settings inside ClipsR and tap Restore Purchase. If that doesn’t work:
- Confirm you’re signed into the correct Apple ID
- Force-quit and relaunch the app
- Contact us with your Apple ID email and approximate purchase date
How do I delete all my data and reset the app?
Delete ClipsR from your iPhone. This permanently removes all clips, projects, and settings. Your exported videos already in your Photos library are not affected — those stay on your device.
🔐 Privacy & Security
What data does ClipsR collect?
ClipsR is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect:
- Your videos or clips
- Usage data or analytics (unless you grant optional tracking permission)
- Any personal information
All your videos and projects are stored locally on your device and never leave it unless you explicitly choose to share or export them.
What is the optional tracking permission for?
ClipsR may ask for permission to use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to measure app performance. This is entirely optional — the app works fully without granting it. You can decline it at any time.
Is my data safe?
Yes. ClipsR stores everything locally using iOS Core Data and standard file storage. There are no remote servers and no cloud sync.
📱 System Requirements
- Device: iPhone
- Operating System: iOS 16.0 or later
