Overview
ClipsR is a video clip recorder for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and what rights you have. The short version: your videos never leave your device unless you choose to share them.
1. Data We Collect
1.1 Data stored on your device only
ClipsR stores the following locally on your device. None of it is transmitted to any server:
- Video clips — 3-second recordings you capture inside the app
- Projects — your project names, settings, and clip arrangements
- App preferences — theme (light/dark/system), export settings, trial start date
1.2 Optional — Advertising Identifier (IDFA)
When you open ClipsR for the first time, the app may present Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking whether you allow it to use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA).
- If you allow tracking: the IDFA may be used to measure how users discover and use the app (performance analytics only). It is not shared with advertising networks or used for targeted ads.
- If you deny tracking: the IDFA is not accessed and the app works fully without any limitation.
You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → ClipsR.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
What | Status |
User accounts or registration | ❌ Not collected |

Browsing or usage history sent to servers | ❌ Not collected |
Health or financial data | ❌ Not collected |

3. Permissions
The app requests the following system permissions. Each permission is requested only when first needed and you can revoke it at any time in iPhone Settings.
Permission | Purpose |
Camera | To record 3-second video clips |
Microphone | To capture audio alongside video |
Photos (Read) | To import clips from your Photo Library |
Photos (Write / Add Only) | To save your exported final video to Photos |
Face ID | To lock individual projects with biometric authentication (optional) |
Tracking (ATT) | Optional — to measure app performance via IDFA (see Section 1.2) |
4. In-App Purchases
ClipsR offers a one-time lifetime purchase (“Unlock Forever”) processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. ClipsR does not receive or store any payment details. For purchase-related questions see Apple’s purchase support.
5. Children’s Privacy
ClipsR does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The app does not include any features directed at children.
6. Data Security
All clips, projects, and preferences are stored in your iPhone’s local storage (Core Data and the app’s sandboxed file system). Sensitive data such as the trial period start date is stored in the device Keychain, which is encrypted by iOS. No data is transmitted over the network by ClipsR itself.
7. Third-Party Services
ClipsR does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social SDKs. The only external services are:
Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
Apple App Store | In-app purchase processing
Apple StoreKit 2 | Purchase verification (on-device)
Apple AppTrackingTransparency | Optional IDFA access |
8. Your Rights
Depending on your country of residence you may have the right to:
- Access — know what data is held about you
- Deletion — request deletion of your data
- Portability — receive a copy of your data
- Opt-out of tracking — deny or revoke ATT permission at any time
Because ClipsR does not collect personal data on any server, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device (e.g. deleting the app removes all locally stored data). For IDFA-related requests, contact us at the address below.
9. Data Retention
All data (clips, projects, preferences) is stored solely on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. No data is retained by the developer after deletion.
10. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be published at the same URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Contact
