nest. for iPad · Last updated: July 13, 2026
Short version: Nest stores all your tasks, notes, journal entries, and habits locally on your device. The only data that leaves your device is anonymous usage analytics and crash reports sent to Google (Firebase), and weather requests sent to Apple (WeatherKit). We never sell your data, run ads, or share anything personally identifiable with third parties.
1. Who we are
Nest ("the app", "we", "us") is an independent productivity app developed by Patryk Doliński (dolinski.io), based in Poland.
This policy explains what information is collected when you use Nest, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
If you have questions, contact us at hi@dolinski.io.
2. Data we collect
The table below lists every category of data Nest accesses, where it is stored, and who can see it.
Data | Purpose | Storage |
Tasks, lists & boards | Core app functionality | Local only |
Notes | Core app functionality | Local only |
Journal entries | Core app functionality | Local only |
Habits | Core app functionality | Local only |
Display name & avatar | Personalisation | Local only |
Face ID / Touch ID | Journal privacy lock | Local only |
Coarse location | Show current weather on home screen | Apple (WeatherKit) |
Anonymous usage events | Understand how features are used to improve the app | Google (Firebase Analytics) |
Crash & diagnostic data | Identify and fix stability issues | Google (Firebase Crashlytics) |
3. Your content stays on your device
Everything you create in Nest — tasks, notes, journal entries, habits — is stored in SwiftData on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers. iCloud Sync
is planned for a future release; when that feature ships, it will be opt-in and covered by
a policy update.
Your Face ID / Touch ID credential is handled entirely by iOS via the LocalAuthentication framework. Nest never reads, stores, or transmits biometric data.
4. Analytics & crash reporting
Nest uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous, aggregated data about how the app is used — for example, which screens are visited and how often features are tapped. This data contains no content you create and cannot be used to identify you personally.
Firebase may use a randomly generated app-instance ID to associate events across sessions. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
Google's privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy. Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default.
5. Location & weather
If you enable the Weather widget, Nest requests your coarse location (city-level) via CoreLocation. This location is passed to Apple's WeatherKit service to fetch a weather forecast.
Nest does not store your location, and you can revoke location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Nest.
Apple's privacy practices for WeatherKit are described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. Data retention & deletion
Because all your personal content is stored locally, deleting Nest from your device permanently removes all your data. Analytics and crash identifiers held by Google are governed by Google's own retention policies.
7. Children's privacy
Nest is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have rights including access to, correction of, and deletion of personal data.
Since Nest holds no personal data on our servers, most requests can be fulfilled by you directly by deleting the app. For analytics data held by Google, you can opt out via your device's advertising settings or by contacting us at hello@dolinski.io.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example, when iCloud Sync ships).
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of Nest after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
